Greetings from Vienna to Munich – VCM Weisswurst Breakfast! – Come and receive a VCM Weisswurst Breakfast in Munich!

Vienna sends its regards to Munich: The Vienna City Marathon will be represented at the Expo of the Munich Marathon. We want to surprise you in Bavaria’s Capital. If you bring this newsletter to the VCM booth at the Expo you will be invited to a  VCM Weisswurst–Breakfast consisting of Weisswurst, Pretzels and beer on Saturday, October 11th 2008.

The breakfast is from 10 –12 am (as long as there is food available)

It is a longstanding Bavarian saying that a Weisswurst should not be allowed to hear the church bell ring at lunchtime. Therefore no more Weisswursts will be distributed once the bells ring at 12pm (assuming there are still some Weisswursts available). Before you ask yourself whether the Weisswurst is an appropriate meal for a marathon runner here is our “wurst-analyses”: The Weisswurst is rich in carbohydrates therefore it can be eaten the day before the marathon.
 
Also the other Weisswurst ingredients are veal, bacon and cooked pig fat seasoned with parsley, lemon rind, mace, onion ginger and cardamom depending on the recipe. To resist eating such a specialty, especially at the location of origin, is not conducive for the upcoming running activity.
Win a VCM Weekend 2009!

Everyone can participate at the raffle to win a VCM Weekend at our booth. Just answer 3 questions regarding the movie classic “The third Man”. It was filmed 60 years ago in Vienna and its famous underground canal system. More than 500 runners have already filled out their raffle tickets at the Expo in Berlin and Cologne. The lucky winner will win a Marathon Weekend for two in Vienna on April 17-19th 2009 that includes a special tour of the city revisiting the footsteps of the “third man”…
