Great Triple Jump expected at European Athletics Premium Meeting in Thessaloniki – European Athletics (EAA) – NEWS

Wednesday's European Athletics Premium Meeting in Thessaloniki (GRE) will see the best in the World competing in the women's Triple Jump.

Cuban World Champion and World leader Yargelis Savigne will meet Olympic Silver medallist and World number two Hrysopyi Devetzi on home soil, Slovenian World Indoor medallist Marija Sestak and Olympic Champion Francoise Mbango of Cameroon.

The only person missing from the World class lineup is European Triple Jump Champion and Olympic and World Long Jump Champion Tatyana Lebedeva of Russia.

There is a similar standard of field in the men's High Jump, with Swedish Olympic Champion Stefan Holm, World medalist's Yaroslav Rybakov (RUS), Kyriacos Ioannou (CYP), Sweden's European Indoor silver medallist Linus Thornblad and the top Czech duo of Tomas Janku and Svatoslav Ton.

On the track US Olympic 100m qualifier Darvis Patton joins Jamaican World Champion Veronica Campbell-Brown as the stars of the Sprint events, while Greek hero, Fani Halkia, will be hoping to repeat her Olympic success, with another home win in the 400m Hurdles.
