Castle Tower, Media Harbour, Athletics Hall at Arena Sportpark, Tulip Inn Duesseldorf Arena. Local sprinter Jessie Maduka from the “Stockheim Team Rio” showed the 35-year-old Olympic and World relay champion Chris Brown of the Bahamas through the sports city of Duesseldorf.
“That’s something you don’t experience every day”, said the 17-year-old. Brown, who had most recently been in Duesseldorf in 2009 and organizes an international athletics meeting at home in the Bahamas, was enjoyed the tour through the city. “Impressive. The city ir really cool – just like the arena. I am looking forward to Thursday evening”, said Brown.
Brown’s results are also impressive: He was on the top of the podium with the 4x400m relay team at the 2001 World Championships and the 2012 Olympic Games. In addition the 35-year-old won the 400m individual title at the 2010 World Indoor Championships.
The German U18 champion Jessie Maduka had her first meeting experience in a junior race in 2012 and clocked 7.61 seconds in the 60m heats in 2013.
