The “PSD Bank Meeting” at the Athletics Hall at Arena Sportpark (30 January 2014) is attracting more and more national top stars to compete in the sports city of Duesseldorf.

In addition to shot putters David Storl (World champion) and Christina Schwanitz (World silver medallist), World pole vault champion Raphael Holzdeppe and Bjoern Otto, 2012 Olympic silver medallist in pole vault, many famous German athletes will also compete in the other events at the ninth edition of the meeting, held under the auspices of Duesseldorf’s Lord Mayor Dirk Elbers.

“More and more German athletes are coming her. We offer the national athletes a platform to present themselves and to compete with the world elite”, says Meeting Director Marc Osenberg.

In the women’s 60m event European relay champions Verena Sailer and Tatjana Pinto will compete against each other. Sailer gained her fifth title in the 60m at the 2013 German indoor championships ahead of Pinto. Triple jumper Katja Demut will meet Israel’s Hanna Knyatyeva, who finished fourth at the Olympics, two-time European indoor bronze medallist Dana Veldakova (Slovakia/2009-2011) and 2011 European indoor champion Simona la Mantia (Italy). Demut set a new German record with 14.47m at the 2011 “PSD Bank Meeting”.

German 400m champion David Gollnow will compete with the 2010 World indoor champion Chris Brown (Bahamas), who finished fourth at the 2012 Olympics in London, and European indoor champion Pavel Maslak (Czech Republic). In the 1,500m German Homiyu Tesfaye will meet – among others – Kenya’s 2011 World indoor silver medallist Silas Kiplagat and Nixon Chepseba, who holds the meeting record in Duesseldorf in 3:34.63min, as well as World bronze medallist Johan Cronje (South Africa). No fewer than four athletes from the top-six at the 2013 World Championships will compete in that event with Cronje (3rd), Chepseba (4th), Tesfaye (5th) and Kiplagat (6th).

And once again the TV sport channel Eurosport will broadcast two hours live (19:00-21:00hrs CET) from the sports city of Duesseldorf. As in the past years, the Event & Fair Hotel Tulip Inn is the official event hotel.

Tickets can be obtained on the Internet at www.psd-bank-meeting.de or at d:ticket as well as on the hotline +49 1805 – 644332.

Children and juveniles up to 18 years pay ten, adults 18 Euro. Clubs once again get discounts.
