DN Stockholm Half Marathon – Third victory for Isabellah Andersson
Isabellah Andersson won the DN Stockholm Marathon for the third straight year. Her time 1:11.07 is a new Swedish record – 28 seconds better than her time in this race two years ago.
Personal best for Andersson is 1:10.02 from Venlo, NED, 2010. Since there was no doping test in Venlo, her result could not be accepted as a Swedish record.
Andersson, who finished seventh in the World Championships marathon race four weeks ago, aimed for 1:11.20 in Stockholm.
Her intermediate times: 5 km 16.54 – 10 km 33.43 – 15 km 50.24 – 20 km 1.07.31 – 21.098 km 1.11.07.
Adil Bouafif – also from Sweden – was fastest among the men with 1:04.41.
In perfect running conditions – sunny and 15 degrees when the race started at 16:00 – a record number of 10,693 runners finished the half marathon.
