COMRADES MARATHON – New Balance a new sponsor to the Comrades Marathon

The Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) has welcomed New Balance as the new footwear and apparel sponsor to ‘The Ultimate Human Race’. New Balance will cement itself as the official sportswear brand to the world’s biggest and oldest ultra-marathon as of 1 July 2013.

New Balance’s mission is to become the world's leading manufacturer of high performance footwear and apparel. With their slogan, ‘Let’s make excellent happen’, the company is all set to capture a larger segment of South Africa’s running community via their new-found association with the Comrades Marathon.

As it stands, New Balance ranks among the four top shoe choices for Comrades runners.
CMA General Manager, Gary Boshoff says, ‘With its nearly 80 year history in perfecting its top quality running shoes, New Balance has shown a determination in catering to the needs of high performance athletes and claiming its fair share of the sportswear market. We are delighted to welcome New Balance onto the Comrades platform.’

CMA Race Director, Johan Van Staden echoes the sentiment, saying, ‘It is a pleasure to have a leading sporting apparel and shoe supplier like New Balance come on board with us. New Balance is claiming its rightful place on the South African sportswear scene and we are proud of the association.’
