On 19 February the RAK Half Marathon (UAE) expects great things on their superfast course, but world record performances are hard to come by. Still, no effort has been spared, with an impressive cast of contenders assembling, including Deriba Merga on the men's side and Dire Tune, Aselefech Mergia and Hilda Kibet in the women's race.
The Ohme-Hochi 30km & 10km races take place on 21 February, followed a few hours later by the Maraton Popular de Valencia, in the third city of Spain.
Next day the Sahara Marathon is run in Tindouf (ALG) on 22 February, with the first event of the AIMS Children's Series 2010 held in conjunction, within the Dakhla refugee camp.
