Athletics Canada – News – National Team Committee and Head Coach role adjustments

Athletics Canada announced today adjustments to the Head Coach position and to the composition of the National Team Committee. Effective immediately Peter Eriksson is now Chief Technical Officer and Head Coach and will Chair the National Team Committee. 

The title modification to the Head Coach role was made to accurately reflect current roles and responsibilities associated with the position. 

The purpose of the National Team Committee is to design, evaluate National Team Policies to fulfill Athletics Canada’s high performance objectives, in a transparent and accountable manner. The committee, under the authority delegated by the Athletics Canada Board of Directors, is responsible for overseeing all National Team matters, specifically:

The new composition of the National Team Committee is:

• Chief Technical Officer and Head Coach – Peter Eriksson
• Athletics Canada Technical Staff – Carla Nicholls
• National Team Coach – Dave Scott-Thomas
• National Team Coach – Desai Williams
• Athlete representative – Inaki Gomez
• Athlete representative – Jennifer Joyce
• *Branch representative – Tim Berrett
• *Branch representative – Daniel St. Hilaire
• Athletics Canada staff liaison – Jared MacLeod (non voting)

The Chair of the National Team Committee is tasked in reporting to the Athletics Canada Board of Directors semi-annually at a meeting of the Board, and will report to the Members at the Annual Meeting.
