Athletics Australia – News – National Athletics Series Event Grid & Travel Funding confirmed for 2014
Athletics Australia is pleased to confirm the Athletics Australia Event Grid, as well as details on Athlete Travel Funding for the National Athletics Series, for the upcoming Australian domestic season.

Athletics Australia and our Member Associations will collaboratively deliver international standard athletics competitions, supporting both the elite High Performance and development pathways.
The 2013-14 National Athletics Series (NAS) will comprise:
Three (3) Australian Athletics Tour Meets (AAT). These are the pinnacle competitions of the NAS, with free-to-air TV coverage, significant prize money and international athletes. In 2014 the AAT meets are;
1/ Perth Track Classic (22 February)
2/ Sydney Track Classic (15 March)
3/ Melbourne IAAF World Challenge (22 March)
Five (5) National Athletics Series meets.
These meets are international standard grand prix style competitions, and each will be allocated a number of Athletics Australia Travel Funded events. These meets are critical opportunities for 2014 qualification and additionally support Athletics Australia and Member Association Junior High Performance and development programs. In 2014, the NAS meets are;
1/ Zatopek:10 (12 December 2013)
2/ Hunter Track Classic (18 January)
3/ Briggs Athletics Classic (1 February)
4/ Adelaide Track Classic (15 February)
5/ Queensland Track Classic (29 March)
Five (5) Australian Championships including;
1/ 92nd Australian Athletics Championships- Melbourne(3-6 April)
2/ Australian Junior Athletics Championships- Sydney (12-16 March)
3/ Australian All Schools Athletics Championships-Townsville (6-8 December 2013)
4/ Australian 20km Walk Championships- Hobart (2 February)
5/ Australian 50km Walk Championships- Melbourne (15 December 2013)
