Athletics Australia – News – BOOK NOW: 2012 Athlete of the Year Awards

The 2012 Athlete of the Year Awards will be held at Crown Palladium, Melbourne, on Thursday, 6 December and you’re invited!

Set to recognise Australia’s best track and field talent, their coaches and the volunteers that allow them to compete domestically, the Awards in 2012 will honour athletic performances achieved in the second half of 2011 as well as across the 2012 calendar year.

This extended period for nomination reflects the change of eligibility criteria approved by the Athletics Australia Board of Directors at the conclusion of 2011. It ensures that the event this year will toast performances at the most recent major championship – the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Hosted by Matt Shirvington and presented by Athletics Australia’s Samsung Diamond League partner Eurosport, the guest list on track and field’s night of nights includes Sally Pearson, Mitchell Watt, Jared Tallent, Richard Colman and Kelly Cartwright.

Tickets are inclusive of a three-course meal and a five-hour beverage package. Individually they can be purchased for $160, or a table of ten costs $1500.
