All AIMS Family – AIMS upcoming events – November 2019 – Athens/Greece
Dear friends of AIMS, Dear Race Directors,
Being consistent with our communication we have developed the previous years, I am addressing this letter to inform you about our upcoming events that will take place in Athens/Greece on 8/9 November 2019.
Continuing and developing the close collaboration we set up back in 2007 along with our friends, here in Greece, the Hellenic Athletics Federation and ‘Athens Marathon.
The Authentic’ we have already started the preparations for the 7th edition of the AIMS Best Marathon Runner Awards Gala and the 13th AIMS Marathon Symposium. Along with the important support of the Region of Attica as Co-Organiser and the significant help of the Greek National Tourism Organisation and Athens International Airport as official sponsors, we are all working towards this direction to organize successful events, promoting our sport Marathon as the previous years.
On Friday evening, 8 November 2019, the 7th edition of AIMS BMR Awards Gala will take place having as a main objective to promote worldwide our sport and its important impact on our lives. During this evening, the Best Marathon Runners (Male/Female) of 2019 will be declared and we will present our Special Awards (Green, Social, Lifetime Achievement) to our members and individual personalities for their exceptional work on the above mentioned areas. Very soon all information regarding the Green and Social Award will be sent to our members so get ready to be part of this process by sending your applications.

On the following day, Saturday morning the 13th AIMS Marathon Symposium will be held in two sessions. The topic of this year is ‘Technology & Mass Running events’. Keynote speakers will deliver meaningful presentations where we believe that will help you improve your race.
At the end of the Symposium all delegates will be transferred at the archaeological site of the Marathon Tomb where they will have the opportunity to attend the annual Ceremonies of the Marathon Flame Lighting.
Finally, on Sunday morning 10 November we will all enjoy the ‘Athens Marathon. The Authentic’ along with other shorter races.

As the previous years, as an offer from SEGAS/Athens Marathon, registration for the AIMS Marathon Symposium is free of charge, as well as the accommodation expenses for three (3) nights in a 5* hotel for the race directors attending (arrival Friday 8 Nov, departure Monday 11 Nov).
Registration for the two above mentioned events will take place through Symposium Secretariat and soon you will receive related info for registration by Ms Georgia Sagiadinou, Project Manager of the Symposium which can be contacted at aimsmarathonsymposium@athensauthenticmarathon.gr
Looking ahead of November, as you already have been informed, the 23rd World Congress of AIMS will be hosted by the Great Batumi Night Race in Georgia from 23-26 April 2020. Considering our Congress an important event of our Association, where we have the opportunity to discuss and share common concerns and ideas please book these dates in advance in your agenda to join us in Georgia and as times comes you will be kept updated about all related info re Congress agenda, schedule, registration and other issues.
