90 Years KOSICE Marathon on october 5th, 2014 – Seven records in Košice

Three months before the start of the Košice Peace Marathon an intense selection of athletes who should adorn event and aim for the top rank has been launched.

In this context, hindsight confirms that really fast course and quality race  make it worthwhile for athletes to fly to Košice.

This is confirmed by an analysis of the past eight years, when there were seven personal best records made by the marathon winners   in male as well as in female race.

Let us recall that the current course record holders are among those who have shifted their best in Košice most.

Lawrence Kimaiyo took the start in 2012 with his best time 2:11:46, but he left from Košice as a holder of new personal record 2:07:01.

The same for Ethiopian Ashete Dido in 2013. She improved her personal best 2:31:23 from Rome, up to 2:27:47 here in Košice
