Starter packs will be issued at the Halfmarathon Office, Arena Hall, Wyspiańskiego Street 33 on:
- Friday, 5th April, 900 am – 800 pm
- Saturday, 6th April, 900 am – 800 pm
On the day of the run, i.e. 7th April 2013, the Halfmarathon Office will be closed! If you cannot personally collect your starter pack, just give your start card to the person that will collect the starter pack for you.
Collect your start number as soon as possible – the organizers are not able to handle a thousand players at once. People with yellow chips are asked to activate them in the Marathon Office in the Arena, at the stand with chips.
Free accommodation (6th/7th April 2013) will be prepared in the Sports Hall, Chwiałkowskiego Street 34 (Chwiałka swimming pool). The Hall will be open from 700 pm. Free buses from the Sports Hall to the start of the Halfmarathon set off on Sunday at 630 am and 730 am.
Do not take valuables with you. Do not give your cloakroom bag to strangers – you can leave it in the cloakroom.
Do not forget to take your timing chip to the start. The chip must be attached to the shoelace.
Come to the start early enough. Do not put on new trainers on the day of the start. Do not bring your own nutritional supplements – we do not display them.
If you feel poorly report to the doctors or volunteers of the Red Cross who are on the route – they will provide you with professional help.
Poznan Halfmarathon
Halfmarathon ethics
Do not think only of yourself – respect the effort of thousands of others!
- During the warm-up pay attention to other runners – hundreds of people stretching out and running in all directions may pose a potential threat.
- At the start line stand in the designated sector. Do not push your way to the start line. There is nothing more demotivating than being later overtaken by hundreds of faster runners. If you do not know where you should stand, stand at the back. Remember, it is better to overtake than to be overtaken.
- If you run in a group of friends remember not to block the way to others – do not run the full width of the street.
- If someone wants to overtake you make room for him/her. If you are not overtaking do not block the way to other overtaking runners.
- Do not suddenly stop in the middle of the street. If you need to tie your shoelace or remove a stone from your shoe, come off the street.
- Watch out at the nutrition points. Do not suddenly bar somebody’s way to catch a cup of water – this may lead to a serious accident.
Take only what you really need from the table. - Do not throw cups, bananas, sponges on the street – otherwise, on the second lap you could twist your ankle upon you own litter.
- Listen to instructions of the halfmarathon personnel. You can disagree with them, but obey their instructions – they just make sure that you are safe.
- Do not litter at the finish line.
- After completing the race be nice to the halfmarathon personnel (presenting medals, masseurs, changing-room attendants, etc.) – remember that they work min. 6 hours (often in the rain and cold weather). Most of them are volunteers who dedicate their free time to you.
- Smile – you are here to have fun!

- What does the participation package include?
- How do I register for the race?
-
The simplest way is by filling the application form on the website. By selecting "credit card" or "electronic transfer" option as a payment method you can immediately pay the participation fee.
The second method is filing the application form in person at the halfmarathon office, which is located at the Poznan Centres of Sports and Recreation, Chwiałkowskiego Street 34 in Poznan. The office is open daily from Monday to Friday from 800 am to 400 pm. Note: The cash desks are open until 300 pm.
- What is the deadline for submitting applications?
-
The deadline for submitting applications is 2nd April 2013. After this deadline we accept only payments for applications accepted before.
- How much is the participation fee?
-
The basic rate is PLN 60. For the holders of "yellow chips" for measuring the time, the fee will be reduced by PLN 5, provided that the chip number is given in the application form. Persons on wheelchairs are exempted from the participation fee.
- What is the deadline for paying the participation fee?
-
The participation fee must enter the organizer's account by 4th April 2013. The organizer is not responsible for postal order or bank transfer delays due to the fault of the post office or bank.
- What are the payment methods?
-
Electronic transfer is an on-line bank transfer using electronic banking services. Most banks provide such services to their customers who hold personal accounts. Payment is initiated immediately after completing the application form. The processor is eCard.
Credit card is an on-line transfer from a credit card account. Payment is initiated immediately after completing the application form. The processor is eCard.
Bank transferis payment into the organizer's account in a traditional manner, through a transfer from the bank account or cash payment at the post office. Transfer details are displayed after completing the application form (they can also be found in section Contact the organizer). Nothing stands in the way to make the transfer via e-banking service after you choose this payment method – banks usually offer online access to personal accounts. However, the simplest alternative is to use the "electronic transfer" option.
Exempt from payment is only intended for participants on wheelchairs.
There is also a possibility to pay the participation fee in cash in person at the organizer's office.
- Can I register and pay the participation fee later?
-
Yes, there is such possibility. Simply select "bank transfer" option as a form of payment in the application form. Transfer details will be displayed after completing the form.
You can also make on-line payment at a later date. To do this, use the payment form.
- Can I change the selected form of payment after completing the application?
-
Yes. To do this, use the payment form.
- There was a problem while paying on-line, what should I do?
-
If the transaction completed with error (for example due to an incorrect credit card number), you can retry paying the fee via the payment form.
Sometimes the error means complete lack of response from the banking system. Some banking institutions carry out night-time maintenance works in their systems, which may result in a lack of availability of services. In this case, transfer order is being recorded and the funds will be taken from the account after service is restored. If within 24 hours of the payments funds have not been taken from your account, please pay the participation fee by traditional bank transfer.
- When is a start number assigned and how to check it?
-
The system automatically assigns the first free number from a pool of numbers just after recording the participation fee. E-mail notification informing about assigning a number is then promptly sent to the runner. The message includes a link to the individual start card. Please print it and take it with you to collect the participation package.
You can always check your start number at the entrant list. If next to a displayed name there is a start number, it means that the participation fee was recorded.
- Will the participation fee be refunded if I resign from taking part?
-
No. In accordance with the Regulations the fee once paid cannot be paid back. However, you may transfer your participation fee to another player. To do this please contact the organizer.
- What to do if my name is not on the entrant list?
-
Try again to fill in the application form, paying attention to possible "typos". If despite this your name is still not on the list, please inform the halfmarathon office.
- What to do if there is no start number next to my name despite paying the participation fee?
-
If more than 3 days passed from the date of the transfer (online transfer) or a week (traditional transfer), inform the halfmarathon office of this problem. Be sure to keep the copy of payment – to help clarify any doubts related to your payment.
- Is it necessary to provide e-mail address?
-
Your e-mail address is not obligatory but helps with the application process. You will receive application confirmation and confirmation of your start number to an e-mail address provided by you. In the body of an e-mail there is also a link to your start card.
As the organizer we assure that the address provided will not be used for advertising purposes or made available to other entities.
