The 44th BERLIN MARATHON on September 24, 2017 presented new dimensions in Germany with its marathon participants as well as with the competitions of the Minimarathon.

In the main contest, the marathon, 43,852 participants from 137 countries registered, 39,101 reached the finish line on 17 June, 200 meters after the Brandenburg Gate. This is a new record.

188 handbikers and 49 wheelchairs were the first on the wet track on Sunday.

At the 29th MINI-MARATHON, 10,051 youngsters ran 4,219 kilometers (from 303 elementary schools as well as 152 secondary school), 1,305 children (up to 8 years) took part in the Bambinilauf.

With 5,573 participants, the Inlineskate Marathon is back on track.

Everyone is always talking about the weather, except for marathon runners.

They just run and don’t let anything get in the way of their fun. While there was no marathon world record, there was an exciting finale—the race was only decided over the last kilometres with Olympic champion Eliud Kipchoge of Kenya winning over a first time marathoner from Ethiopia.

Despite the rain, hundreds

of thousands of spectators lined the streets, cheering on the runners. Our video captured the unforgettable hours of the marathon weekend. And for those of you considering being part of it next year, all of the important info is included here.
