The 25th Philips Half Marathon will be the Polish Championships men and women in half marathon. In addition, the Police Championship will be held.

The event will take place in Pila, Poland, on 6 September 2015.

Last year the Philips Half Marathon was completed by 2.856 runners.

Current records of the Philips Half Marathon are:

Men: 1:02:11 – Daniel Muteti (Kenya)
Women: 1:12:49 – Natalia Berkut (Ukraine)

Traditionally, image of a famous Polish marathon runner will be shown on the race medal. His name will be announced later.

We invite you to participate in the 25th Pila Half Marathon.

Since 2006 organizers of the race in Piła put on the medal the image of the best Polish marathon runners in the history of Polish athletics.

The first athlete honored in this way was Zdzisław Bogusz. This year, the finishers of the Half Marathon in Piła will receive a medal with the image of Wanda Panfil, World Champion in Marathon from Tokyo in 1991.

The Half Marathon PHILIPS Piła is an important running event for many runners in Poland and abroad. This year, on September 6th will start the jubilee 25th edition of the race. Since 2006 all the finishers of the race received occasional and unique medal with the image of the best Polish marathoners in the history of Polish athletics.

In recent years, following runners has been honored in this way: Zdzisław Bogusz (2006), Edward Stawiarz (2007), Michał Wójcik (2008), Kazimierz Orzeł (2009), Edward Łęgowski (2010), Ryszard Marczak (2011), Jerzy Skarżyński (2012) Wojciech Ratkowski (2013), and Zbigniew Pierzynka (2014).

For the first time in the history of the Half Marathon PHILIPS Piła organizers will put on the medal the image of a woman – Wanda Panfil, one of the best runners in the history of the marathon worldwide. She was Polish representative in long-distance running and won many prestigious marathons in the world, including marathons in Tokyo, New York, Nagoya and London. In 1988, in Debno with the time 2:32:23 she became the Polish Champion in the marathon. The most successful of her career was 1991. In April, he established his personal record 2:24:18 and won the Boston Marathon. In August the same year she won the marathon in Tokyo and became the best female marathon runner in the World.

It is an honor and a special distinction. All the participants pf Half Marathon in Piła will have an opportunity to meet this great athlete, get an autograph, take a photo and have a chat. All of you who wants to have unique medal in the collection should definitely join 25th International Half Marathon PHILIPS Piła. I can assure you that this medal will not happen again. "- says Henryk Paskal, the director of Half Marathon PHILIPS Piła.

The race in Piła attracts many runners – almost 2,500 people registered to the event and organizers have set a limit participants to 3,500. There is a lower entry fee for the half marathon – (50 PLN) for the runners who will register before July 17th. After this date the price of the bib will rise by 20 PLN.

The race is taking place always on the first Sunday of September and it means that this ideal date for those runners who are planning to run in the marathons in Warsaw and Berlin.

The course of the half marathon is flat and very fast. This is the reason why runners so willingly and often come every year to Pila, because they can achieve good results and improve their personal bests.

The course is certified by IAAF, AIMS and PZLA and the event has the rank of the Half Marathon Polish Championship and the Polish Army Championships.
