13th Poznan Marathon/POL, a bumper race!

Another great marathon race in Poznań has just passed. Despite many changes waiting for runners – or perhaps for their case – which was, among others: new location of marathon office, starting and finishing areas at the International Poznan Fair and one lap route, the marathoners brotherhood of Poland showed up in large numbers.

Once again Poznan Marathon appeared to be bumper once more – more then 5700 runners, from 31 countries have challanged the killer distance of 42 kilometres and 197 metres. 5426 athletes crossed the finish line.

The 13^th edition of Poznan Marathon brought many nice surprises to the atheletes. New, one lap route was a challange to many, but foremost it was unique opportunity to explore almost entire city from a running perspective.

Everyone who made it, and finished the race was given a madel commemorating the 100^th anniversary of the Polish Scouting Association in Greater Poland (Wielkopolska).

There was also many accompanying, side events as Poznań Sport Fair, shorter distance races, pasta party and running lectures (Scott Jurek, famous ultramarathoner, gave one too!). There were also some great prizes: Volvo V40, ticket „Tokyo Marathon 2013" and holiday weekend in Sheraton Lisoba! The happy owner of brand new Volvo V40 Andrzej Maldzis from Poznań has finished the run in  04:55:59.

Beata Nienadowska  will go to Tokyo next year and   Cezary Czajka  will spend a lovely weekend in Sharton Lisboa, who crossed the finish line as 2012 athlete.
