10 YEARS NEUJAHRSMARATHON ZURICH/Switzerland

The first winners of this first IAAF/AIMS marathon in 2014 are two runners from Switzerland. In the men’s race, Philipp Arnold took over the lead from Marcel Knape (GER) just 3 kilometers before the finish.

 

He finally finished 1:08 minutes in front of Knape. Previous year’s runner-up Christophe Scherno (FRA) finished 3rd this year.

In the women’s race, Astrid Mueller celebrated another start-finish victory. It was her 4th success after 2010, 2011 and 2013. Latifa Mokhrari (FRA) arrived second and Doris Russenberger (SUI) third.

A record number of 815 runners from 36 different countries participated in the various races.

250 of them ran the full midnight marathon, which is a new record as well.
