But there were a lot of new meet records, and one national record.

  • Ryosuke Kusumi (Shiga) set a T37-class NR of 58.35 m in the para men’s 400 m.
  • Kairi Ikeno (Suma Gakuen H.S.) came less than 2 seconds short of a new high school record in the women’s 2000 m, beating her own MR from last year by over 3 seconds in 5:55.36, almost 17 seconds ahead of 2nd place.
  • The top 5 all broke or tied the men’s high jump meet record, with both Yuto Seko (FAAS) and Tomohiro Shinno (Kyudenko) clearing 2.25 m and Takashi Eto (Kobe Digital Labo), Chao-Hsuan Fu (Taiwan) and Naoto Hasegawa (Niigata Albirex RC) clearing 2.20 m.
  • Yuki Hashioka (Fujitsu) won the men’s long jump with an 8.10 (+1.7) MR, the only athlete over 7.90 m.
  • Misaki Morota (At Home) broke the women’s pole vault MR, clearing 4.35 m on her 2nd attempt.
  • Hitoshi Okumura (Senko) missed his own men’s shot put NR by just 1 cm, throwing a MR 19.08 m for the win.
  • Rino Kato (Mukogawa Joshi Univ.) and Riko Nishimura (Mitsubishi Denki) both broke Kato’s MR in the women’s javelin throw, Kato winning in 52.99 m and Nishimura 2nd at 51.78 m.
  • The MR went in the men’s javelin throw too, Hayato Yamada (Hiyoshi) breaking the 25-year old record with a 78.35 m throw for the win.
  • Another double record came in the women’s discus throw, both Nanaka Kori (Niigata Albirex RC) and Maki Saito (Taihei Dengyo) breaking Saito’s MR and Kori getting the win with a 5th-round 58.81 m throw to Saito’s 57.65 m closer.
  • The Takigawa Daini H.S. girls broke the high school 4×100 m MR in 46.31, with 2nd-place Sonoda H.S. also under the only record in 46.37.
