Kiplagat seeks Olympic standard in Utrecht – European Athletics (EAA) – NEWS

World Half Marathon Champion Lornah Kiplagat (NED) and her cousin Hilda Kibet will compete at the Utrecht 10,000m race on 30 May to try and reach the Olympic qualifying standard.

Their second (Kiplagat, 31:53.72) and third (Kibet, 32:05.49 ) place finishes at the European Cup 10,000m in Istanbul in April were not enough to secure a place on the Dutch team, so both Kibet and Kiplagat (who holds the World records for 20km and Half Marathon) must run a 31:22 in Utrecht (NED).

 Their competition at this event includes Belgium's European Cup 10,000m bronze medallist Nathalie de Vos, and Great Britain's Hayley Yelling.
