The Golden League Paris Saint-Denis Meeting in search of a title sponsor
Yesterday the GDF SUEZ group officially announced the withdrawal from its partnership with the IAAF Golden League Meeting in Paris Saint-Denis. Gaz de France was the historic partner to the meeting as the brand has been synonymous with the event for the past 10 years and held the status of ‘title' partner.
Today, the organisers must concentrate on very rapidly finding a new partner to ensure the event can continue.
GDF SUEZ, still partner to French athletics, alongside the French Athletics Federation, will try to accompany the organisers as best they can in their search for a partnership. There is great motivation from all the protagonists because it is crucial that they continue to offer the public from Ile de France, as well as the whole of France, the pinnacle of world athletics.
Indeed, by enabling the greatest number of people to discover athletics at its highest level, the meeting participates in the promotion of the very best sport has to offer and certainly contributes to encouraging the practice of sport.
Today the Meeting is managed by an SAOS directed by Mr. Gérard Rousselle – General Manager (sports management) and Xavier Bersot – Representative General Manager (administrative and financial management).
The presidency of the board of directors is ensured by Jean-Claude Perrin.
Rights have been contracted with the IAAF within the framework of the Golden League until the 2009 edition of the meeting.
