European Athlete of the Month of October Hilda Kibet will lead Netherlands 10-member strong team for SPAR European Cross Country Championships in neighbouring Brussels.

The European Cup 10,000 meter bronze medallist, Kibet will be joined by defending Under-23 champion Adrienne Herzog in the seniors category along with Miranda Boonstra and Marije te Raa.

NCAA star Susan Kuijken will be the only female participant in the U23 category.

Michel Butter, winner at last month's International VGZ Warandeloop in Tilburg, will lead the Dutch challenge in the Men's senior's category.

Poland bank on juniors

Poland has decided to invest in future, fielding only one senior athlete in a 21-member squad for Brussels. Karolina Jarzynska, winner at International Orange Cross-Country in Les Mureaux last month will be going for the top glory in the senior's category. The team will field a full strength squad in the U-23 and Junior categories in both male and female section.

Rahautsou leads Belarus

Stsiapan Rahautsou has been assigned the lead role in Belarus charge in Brussels. The silver medallist at 2005 European Junior Cup has been in peak form this season winning the National Cross Country Championship, ‘Yazyl ten'(10,000m race) and International Minsk Marathon.

Hungary is sending three athletes for the SPAR European Cross Country Championships in Brussels. While Albert Minczer will be the sole senior representative, Zita Kacser will run in U23 women's race and Andras Barany in junior men competition.

Austria will be led by former 3000m steeplechase gold medallist at European U23 Championships, Martin Pröll. A total of 10 athletes are expected to turn out in Austrian colours in Brussels.

Czech Republic will field only two athletes, one each in the men's U23 race and the junior girls' category.

Luxembourg will have only one representative in the form of Pascal Groben. The 31-years old runner who is mainly a steeple specialist with 8:56 best will be making his debut at Brussels.
