The ASK Moscow boys and girls teams successfully retained the European Champion Clubs Cup Track and Field Juniors Group A titles on home soil Saturday. The boys scored 122.5 points, ahead of Spanish team Playas de Castellon (111) and Serbia's Crvena Zvezda Beograd (103). The junior women were even more dominating in victory, claiming 128 points ahead of Novi Beograd of Serbia (107) and Czech team Olymp Brno (98).

The best performance in the boys' category was the new Czech junior record and world junior leader set by Jakub Vadlejch in the Javelin with a throw of 80.52m.

World junior record holder Javier Cienfuegos of Spain threw 73.94m in the Hammer (6kg) and European junior champion Sergey Mudrov of Russia cleared 2.20m in the High Jump.

In the girls events, world youth champion Vera Rudakova of Russia clocked 58.98sec in the 400m hurdles. Team-mate Natalya Mamlina cleared 1.80m in the High Jump, while another team-mate, Yekaterina Kolesova, cleared 4.00m in the Pole Vault.

Croatian record holder Sandra Perkovic achieved a solid 59.17m in the Discus and Serbian world junior champion Ivana Spanovic leaped to 6.35m (+0.5) in the Long Jump.

Turkish world youth silver medalist Kivilcim Kay won the Hammer with 62.20m. Meanwhile, there was a sprint double for Anna Kielbasinska at 100m and 200m, the Polish athlete clocking 11.92 (+1.2) and 24.30 (-0.7).

Group B

The Polish teams of Podlasie Bialystok had two close battles for first place in Group B in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The boys won on more individual wins after scoring the same as Italy's Atletica Bergamo (both scored 114 points and both were promoted to Group A). The girls were second just two points behind the British team Blackheath and Bromley Harriers. Both gained promotion to Group A.

Notable performances included world youth bronze medallist Tomas Kruzliak throwing 65.00m with the 6kg Hammer. Poland's high jumper Piotr Milewski cleared 2.10m, Danish athlete Lasse Larsen threw 52.22m with the 1.75kg Discus and Slovak Juraj Mokras won two events: the 200m (21.90) and 400m (48.25).

In the girls competition, the two best results were the 56.02sec at 400m run by home athlete Jasna Horozic and the 6.03m in the Long Jump by Briton Lorraine Ugen.

Junior girls: 1. Blackheath and Bromley Harriers, GBR 80, 2. Podlasie Bialystok, POL 78, 3. Stavbar Nitra, SVK 69, 4. Sloboda Tehnograd, BIH 68, 5. Nomme KJK, EST 53, 6. Sparta Copenhagen, DEN 43.

Group C

Estonian boys team SK Altius Parnu won Group C in Heusde-Zolder in Belgium with 102 points ahead of Croatian ASK Split (93) and gained promotion to Group B for 2010. In the girls competition, the clear winner was Swiss team LG erdgas Oberthurgau with 77.5 points. Both them and home team AVT (57 points) were promoted to Group B.

Croatian sprinter Hrvoje Udiljak posted a sprint double win, with 10.86 (+2.2) in the 100m and 22.00 (+0.4) in the 200m.

Lithuanian Hammer thrower Martynas Sedis achieved 61.90m and Estonian 400m runner Andris Saaremits clocked 48.44sec.

The Swiss girls won 8 events including both relays.
