On 3 April, their traditional Easter Saturday date, the Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon welcomes a record field to both their title 56km event and the associated Half Marathon, totaling 21,000 runners.

On 7 April a much smaller group of runners will run a lap course on the polar ice cap in the North Pole Marathon.

From the highest (in latitude) to the lowest (in altitude): on 9 April the Dead Sea Ultramarathon (50km, but also offering Marathon and Half Marathon options) is run in Jordan on a point-to-point course descending from higher land to the Dead Sea shore, at 400m below sea level.
