Napa-to-Sonoma Wine Country Half Marathon Opens Registration – Part of popular Wine Country Half Marathon Series

SONOMA, Calif. – Destination Races announced that registration for the 2011 Napa-to-Sonoma Wine Country Half Marathon is open on the race's official website at www.napa2sonoma.com.

The race will take place on Sunday, July 17, 2011. Considered to be one of the premier half-marathons in the world, the Wine Country Half Marathon features a scenic course which starts at Cuvaison winery in Napa and winds through the Carneros wine appellation, recognized for its outstanding chardonnay and pinot noir grapes. The course finishes in front of City Hall in Sonoma Plaza, site of the post-race Wine & Music Festival.

Race registration is expected to sell out within a few weeks. The 2010 race, which attracted 3,400 registrants from around the world, sold out four weeks after registration opened.

The 13.1-mile course runs through the scenic Carneros wine region from Napato a grand finish at City Hall in Sonoma Plaza. Spectators line the finalstretch down Broadway cheering on race participants who then join teammates, friends and family in the plaza for the celebratory Wine & Music Festival.
