Last year, at the 33rd Marathon, there were 1,200 runners who participated in the marathon which was a record of new participation. This year the Tiberias Marathon again is breaking records with 1,500 participants meant to run the race.

This number is expected to grow slightly, because we are waiting to find out if all the senior runners from Kenya and Ethiopia will have confirmation of landing from the Israeli Interior Ministry, and the most senior Israeli runners are at training camps abroad. We are very excited to have this many participants and are happy more then 22 countries are participating in the marathon.

A large delegation from Jordan will participate in the 10 km run taking place the day before the marathon

A large delegation of Jordanian athletes will participate in the 10 km run that will take place during the Tiberias Marathon events, on Wednesday, January 5. The marathon will begin at 15:00 on Galilee Street to start off the exciting completive sporting event. The Jordanian delegation will raise their flag at the 24th march of the flags with all the other athletes participating in the marathon.

Despite the official closure of the registration race, there are still runners who want to participate in both the marathon and 10-km race.
