With Brighton & Hove gearing up for the 21st Brighton Half Marathon this Sunday 20 February, the organising charity The Sussex Beacon is inviting everyone to line the streets of the city to cheer on the runners and soak up the atmosphere. To mark the occasion a birthday cake will also be cut by The Mayor of Brighton & Hove, Councillor Geoff Wells, on the main stage on Madeira Drive at 9.45 am.

The Brighton Half Marathon starts at 9 am, with a warm up by ZT Fitness at 8.40 am.

Mike East, Commonwealth gold medal winner and ex Olympian and now Marketing Manager at Brooks, will be the official starter of the Brighton Half Marathon. "I am really looking forward to being the official starter, this is one of the longest established and most popular seafront races and I am proud to be involved with the Brighton Half Marathon. Good luck to all the runners!"

Brighton Half Marathon training day

The 1 mile Youth Races, in association with local charity Passing It On, start at 9.20 am (8-11 year olds) and 9.30 am (12-16 year olds) at the far Eastern end of Madeira Drive adjacent to Black Rock car park and finish at the main finish line.
