Runners interested in participating in the 2011 AJC Peachtree Road Race on Monday, July 4 have a few more days to enter the Peachtree lottery at ajc.com/peachtree. The online lottery system for the AJC Peachtree Road Race will remain open until 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, March 24.
Those wishing to participate in the 2011 Peachtree may register for the lottery online at ajc.com/peachtree anytime through 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2011. Regardless of the day or time one enters, all individuals and groups who enter the lottery during the 10 day period from March 15 through March 24 have an equal chance of being selected for the 2011 AJC Peachtree Road Race.
Entrants will be randomly selected after the lottery closes on March 24. All lottery entrants will receive an email by Tuesday, March 29, 2011 informing them of whether or not they were selected for the 2011 event. Searchable results of the selection process will also be posted on peachtreeroadrace.org and ajc.com/peachtree on March 29.
New for 2011, the Atlanta Track Club, organizer of the AJC Peachtree Road Race, increased the event capacity by 5,000 taking the total number of participants in this year’s event from 55,000 to 60,000.
The 42nd running of the AJC Peachtree Road Race will take place on Monday, July 4, 2011. Entry into the 10K event is $33. Given the success of the 2010 Peachtree Health and Fitness Expo, 2011 participants will again have the opportunity to pick up their number on Saturday, July 2 or Sunday, July 3 at the Expo or pay a $7.50 convenience fee to have it mailed.
