AIMS races – this weekend – Coming up . . .the Skopje Marathon – the Maratona d’Europa – the Volkswagen Prague International Marathon – the Big 25 Berlin – the METRO Group Marathon Düsseldorf – the Maraton Martin Fiz

Six AIMS races are held on 8 May, all in Europe. The Skopje Marathon takes place in the Macedonian capital, incorporating the Balkan Marathon Championships and attracting a record field of 3000 runners.

The Maratona d'Europa follows, in the Italian city of Trieste, with the Volkswagen Prague International Marathon being held in the Czech capital, boasting its normal stellar field.

Further north, the Big 25 Berlin will attempt the impossible task of trying to improve on the previous edition, in which two world records (men and women) were set in the same race – the one and only time this has happened.

Elsewhere in Germany the METRO Group Marathon Düsseldorf takes place.

The Maraton Martin Fiz is also held in the Basque city of Vitoria, in the north-east of Spain.
