USA Track & Field – News – Todd sweeps horizontal jumps on day five of USA Youth Track & Field Championships

Updates were provided throughout the day and can be reviewed below.

Long jump
Jasmine Todd of the Arizona Cheetahs got her second win of the meet in the young women's long jump with a best jump of 5.68m/18-7.75.
Ariana Washington was the only intermediate girls' long jump competitor out over 18 feet with her mark of 5.52m/18-1.5.
In the final round of the midget girls' long jump, Ann Arbor Track Club's Catherine Dager took over the lead with a distance of 4.75m/15-7.

High jump
One miss was the difference between first and second for Isaiah Moore of the Durham Striders who jumped 1.90m/6-2.75 for the win in the intermediate boys' high jump.
Aron Cruikshank of the Metropolis Track Club made his last attempt at 1.40m/4-7 to win the midget boys' high jump.

Shot put
Columbia Express Track Club's Jabari Bennett topped the midget boys' shot put competitors with his toss of 13.81m/45-3.75.
Dylan Dyke's series in the intermediate boys' 12 lb. shot put was consistently out past 16 meters, eventually winning with a mark of 16.68m/54-8.75.
Jonathan Zedella followed up his victory in the discus with a win in the youth boys' 4k shot put, throwing 13.39m/45-8.5.

Discus throw
Jason Zahn led the young men's 1.6k discus competitors by almost ten feet with his winning throw of 53.18m/174-6.
Katelyn Gochenour bounced back from second place finishes in the javelin and shot put throws to win the youth girls' discus throw with a distance of 34.53m/113-3.

Javelin throw
Emma Fitzgerald opened up the finals of the youth girls' javelin throw with a heave of 41.10m/134-10 to secure her victory in the event.
Kansas Flyers Track Team member Vanessa Kresin had the top throw in the young women's javelin throw with a mark of 40.47m/132-9.
South Park Track Club's Billy Stanley's last throw sailed past the 200-foot mark, giving him the win in the young men's javelin with final mark of 62.86m/206-3.

Pole vault
Ian West exceeded his seed mark with a jump of 4.05m/13-3.5 to win the intermediate boys' pole vault.

3,000m
Sydney Tullai of the Equalizers Track Club cruised to victory in the midget girls' 3,000m, clocking a time of 10:42.00.
Jonathan Jenkins earned the Newroc Rockets' first title of the meet with a winning time of 10:17.00 in the miget boys' 3,000m.
Catherine Pagano defeated the rest of the youth girls' 3,000m competitors by 20 seconds with her time of 10:13.88.
The youth boys' 3,000m was a duel between Jacob Ogden and James Jones, with Ogden coming out on top with a time of 9:17.31.
Rebekah Topham of the Cornhusker Flyers was victorious in the intermediate girls' 3,000m, finishing in a time of 10:46.79.
Jenks America Track Club's Regan Ward crossed the line in 10:34.60 to take the win in the young women's 3,000m.

200m
Jada Davis-Mack of the Mercury San Diego Track Club won the sub-bantam girls 200m title with a time of 32.21. On the boys' side, Fasst Track's Zion Russell cruised to victory with a winning time of 29.89.
Siani Sanders of the Greater Norristown PAL Track Team came out on top of the bantam girls' 200m, finishing in 28.30. After setting a personal best in the preliminary round, Tyson McDonald wrapped up the bantam boys' division with his time of 26.56.
Quiet Fire's Lauren Williams, who also has the top times in the 100m and 400m going into finals, took home her first gold medal in the midget girls' 200m with a blazing fast 24.82. Tyjon Lindley of the Corona Panthers Track Club was first in the midget boys' 200m, clocking a time of 25.94.
Venida Fagan edged out Rate of Motion Elite Track Club teammate Aliyah Abrams with her time of 24.61 to win the youth girls' 200m. Fasst Track's Anthony Mcfarland walked away with the win in the youth boys' 200m, crossing the finish line in 23.13.
Long Beach Sprinter Ariana Washington's time of 24.10 earned her the 200m title for the intermediate girls' age group. Kendal Williams of the 1st Coast Track Club finished with a time of 21.46 to take home the title in the intermediate boys' 200m.
Christal Green of JumpStart Athletics was ultimately the winner in the young women's 200m, edging out Tori Williams by a tenth of a second. Harvey Mcswain, who entered the meet with the top times in the 100m and 200m, won the young men's 200m to earn his first title of the week.

Hammer throw
In the intermediate girls' hammer throw, Kelli Thomas of the Throw1deep Club captured the title with a toss of 42.80m/140-5.

800m
Makayla Gamble earned the first 800m victory of the day for the Durham Striders with her winning time of 2:49.44 in the sub-bantam girls' division. Myrtle Beach native Kyle Watkins bested the rest of the sub-bantam boys 800m field by ten seconds with his time of 2:37.76.
Durham Striders' Kai'Aishah Mitchell was the top bantam girls 800m runner, finishing in 2:43.37. Stanley St-Fleur, one of three Juventus Track Club members in the bantam boys' 800m, won with his time of 2:27.79.
The midget girls' 800m ended in a photo finish, with Track Phi Track's Mackenzie Ellison edging out Anna Forman by three-hundredths of a second to win in 2:19.96. Coleman Mitchell of Triangle Champions Track Club was victorious in the midget boys' 800m, clocking a time of 2:20.14.
Kanae' Taylor of the Juventus Track Club surged past Ersula Farrow with 80m to go to win the youth girls' 800m in 2:14.64. Cullen Yancey took the lead in the youth boys' 800m and never gave it up, finishing with a time of 2:05.71.
Danielle Jones of the Arizona Cheetahs moved from third to first in the last 50m of the intermediate girls 800m to win with a time of 2:17.61. Ryan Thomas moved up to challenge Nathaniel Gordon coming to the finish line in the intermediate boys' 800m, but the race was Gordon's with his time of 1:57.39.
Chloe Berlioux of Personal Best Athletics was the winner in the young women's 800m, crossing the line in 2:13.88. Antonio Carter won a second 800m victory for Track Phi Track with his 1:53.47 win in the young men's 800m.

4x100m
Fasst Track and Field Club was awarded the win in the sub-bantam girls division with a time of 1:11.05.
Bantam girls' 200m champion Siani Sanders helped lead the Greater Norristown Pal Track Team to victory in a time of 55.79. Fasst Track and Field Club took home another 4x100m with a win in the bantam boys' age group, finishing in 56.77.
Greater Norristown Pal Track Team won the midget girls' division as well with their time of 54.43. Fasst Track and Field Club continued their dominance in the 4x100m with the midget boys' title which they won in 51.16.
The youth girls' 4x100m came to a dramatic conclusion as Charlotte Flights Track and Field Club came out on top by a hundredth of a second with a time of 50.61. It was Fasst Track and Field Club again in the youth boys' relay as they went on to win in 45.67.
Titans Track Club topped both the intermediate girls' and intermediate boys' races, with a time of  47.94 on the girls' side and 41.52 on the boys' side.
Sapphire Track Club topped the young women's competition, crossing the line in 46.24. Maximum Output T/C ran a time of 41.80 on the way to their win in the young men's relay.
