INDIANAPOLIS – A record number of athletes and clubs will compete for national honors July 8-9 at the 2011 USATF National Club Track & Field Championships at Icahn Stadium in New York City. More than 600 athletes representing 73 USATF clubs from 18 different states will compete for individual and team titles.

Team awards and prize money will be presented to the top three men's and women's teams, and the "Overall Men's & Women's Combined Team Champion" will be recognized with a team award. Recognition will be given to the "Most Valuable Male Athlete" and the "Most Valuable Female Athlete," (based on the total number of points scored). Additional recognition will be given to the "Outstanding Male Performer of the Meet" and the "Outstanding Female Performer of the Meet," (based on the top performances using IAAF scoring tables). At last year's Championships in San Francisco, Calf., Central Park Track Club (Metropolitan) and the Norfolk Real Deal (Virginia) claimed the men's and women's team titles, respectively.

Central Park Track Club used a well-balanced effort by both its men's and women's squads to also claim the combined team title over Norfolk Real Deal. Of particular note this weekend will be the competition in the women's Triple Jump where Amanda Smock (Team NoDak) and Crystal Manning (Chula Vista Elite), the top two finishers, from the recent USA Championships in Eugene, Ore, will face off again. Both are attempting to garner a qualifying mark for the IAAF World Championships next month in Daegu, South Korea.
