The Brighton Half Marathon organisers are proud to announce the Corporate Charity Challenge which, new for 2012, was launched at the Juice 107.2 Breakfast Club last week.

Based on the tremendous success of the 2011 race and the feedback received from runners, the organisers have been working on a concept that evolves around businesses and companies entering as a team, and came up with a slightly different Challenge that doesn't just focus on fastest race times. The Corporate Charity Challenge Trophy will be presented to the business that collectively raises the most funds for their chosen charity with a minimum of 3 runners from the team having to finish the race. Additional prizes will be available for the fastest teams (1st, 2nd and 3rd ), based on the accumulative time of the first 3 runners of each team. A team consists of 3-5 runners from the same company.

The key aims are to build teamwork spirit in the work place, increase the profile of businesses taking part and promote fitness whilst raising money for charity.

If you are interested in getting involved then go to www.brightonhalfmarathon.com  and register your business now. This is a great opportunity to not only showcase your business, fitness, teamwork and combined team ability but also to make a difference to people's lives through charity fundraising. Entry fees are £26 (affiliated) or £29 (unaffiliated) per person, and upon registration you will be able to choose from a list of selected charities including The Sussex Beacon, WaterAid, Albion In The Community and Rockinghorse Children's Charity.

Partners of the Brighton Half Marathon Corporate Charity Challenge confirmed so far include Virgin Money Giving, Juice 107.2 Breakfast Club, Brighton & Hove Business Show and Brainwaves.

The Brighton Half Marathon, which is organised by and the main fundraiser for The Sussex Beacon, takes place on Sunday 19th February 2012, starting and finishing on Brighton seafront.
