Ecuador and Venezuela have won gold medals at the 6. CONSUDATLE Mountain Running Championships which took place in Caracas, in the vicinity of Parque Nacional Warairarepano.

2011 South American mountain running Champions are Pedro Ramos (Ecuador) and Jaimes Mileydis (Venezuela).

Finally four Nations were present at the Championships this year: Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil and Venezuela.
In the future it would be possible to increase the number of Nations involved, specially in case that some National Athletic Federations (like for sample Peru and Chile) would include inside the Federation the atheltic discipline of mountain running.
