With a racing course that stretches across the baroque city-center of Olomouc , June 23rd marks the starting day of the Olomouc Half Marathon, welcoming thousands of runners from all over Europe for the 3rd time this summer. The city of Olomouc is beautifully captured between two rivers, an ancient university, and around a complete set of gothic and baroque architectural gems, which many now are proudly among UNESCO‘s World Heritage List.
For centuries, the city of Olomouc has inspired musicians, such as Mozart and Mahler, and now this summer, is luring enthusiastic runners to race in this thrilling running event! With the Half Marathon entry discount deadline on February 29th 2012, runners are highly encouraged to register as soon as possible.
To help runners save financially during their visit to Olomouc this coming summer, the city is kindly offering the 48-hour Olomouc Region Card (ORC) for a special discount price of 100 Kc (4€) for all runners. With this tourist discount card, runners will obtain free or discounted admission to over 70 castles, palaces, and many other beautiful attractions including the Hardisko monastery, the gothic church of St. Moritz which holds the largest organ in Central Europe, the Olomouc castle, the Edelmann's Palace.
Runners who hold the ORC will enjoy free use of the public transport network, discounted theatre tickets, hotel accommodation, and dining at some of Olomouc's best restaurants. The ORC will be available for purchase during the Half Marathon Expo in Olomouc. After the Half Marathon, a well-deserved gourmet experience can also be enjoyed in near-by Loštice where runners can visit the specialized museum where the renowned Olomoucké Tvarůžky cheese is originally made and sold.

Česke Budějovice Half Marathon – your way to discover!
Get ready for some new travelling experiences as this year the organizing team of Prague International Marathon offers a bit more exciting form of tourism. The 1st edition of the České Budějovicé Half Marathon will take place on the 9th of June in the capital of South Bohemia. The fun does not certainly end with a finish line. Coming for the Half Marathon in České Budějovice with your family and friends you might want to prolong the South Bohemian stay and get a closer look at the historical and cultural side of this royal city and its surroundings. Besides visiting the numerous churches and monuments get ready to explore the castle in Hluboká nad Vltavou, spend a relaxing day at a spa town of Třeboň or visit a rural baroque village of Holašovice.
