On Saturday, 8 September 2012 is fully booked! There are now only starting positions for Sunday available for all categories (men and women, young and old). If you still want to run the marathon, is only the Sunday as the only possibility to start, sign up then!

You are running with a complete view of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau finishing no ordinary marathon but a unique runners experience .

Along the way the scenery keeps changing: The emerald Lake of Brienz contrasts with the icy mountain giants of the region, the sheer rock faces in the Lauterbrunnen Valley with the bubbling waters of the Lütschine and the gnarled stone pines below the Wengernalp with the eternal ice of the majestic Silberhorn.

Two Marathons in 2012

On Saturday all the women categories as well as the men categories M50 to M70 will start for the race.
On Sunday the men categories M20, M40 and M45 will start for the race.

The starting time for both marathons (Saturday and Sunday) will be 9 am.

New in 2012 are the categories double and couple.
In the category double every runner can start, who wants to run both marathons.
The category couple gives the possibility for a man and a woman for an extra ranking beside the normal individual ranking.

World championships Long Distance Mountain Running Challenge

After 2007 the Jungfrau-Marathon is able to hold for the second time, the world championships in long distance mountain running. The women's race will take place on Saturday and the men's on Sunday.

Entertainment programme

Highlights will be the world championships opening and award ceremonies, performances from DJ Ötzi Saturday and Sunday as well as two extra shows of the William Tell Open-Air Theatre. Tickets on sale now!

 

World championships long distance mountain running

After 2007 the Word Mountain Running Association (WMRA) has chosen the Jungfrau-Marathon for the 2nd time to organize the world championships.

The women world champion will be chosen on 8 September. The men's world championships race will tale place on 9 September 2012.
