Allstate Life Insurance Atlanta 13.1 Marathon® Set for Sunday, October 7

ATLANTA – US Road Sports & Entertainment Group (USRS) is making final preparations to host the Allstate Life Insurance Atlanta 13.1 Marathon® and Karhu 5K.  The events will take place in Town Brookhaven, 4330 Peachtree Rd, NE, Atlanta, GA 30319 on Sunday, October 7, beginning at 7 a.m. ET.

The event promotes health and wellness and partners with several charity organizations that have runners for a cause. Participants of all skill levels have the opportunity to improve their physical and mental health and accomplish life-altering goals while having fun. The event is family-oriented and includes a kid-friendly 5K course.

The course encompasses Town Brookhaven in Atlanta's Brookhaven community, situated on Peachtree Road, north of Lenox Square Mall and Phipps Plaza, and borders the historic Oglethorpe University.

The Allstate Life Insurance? Atlanta 13.1 Marathon® is also walker friendly. The course will remain open for 3 hours and 30 minutes (16 minute/mile pace).  More information can be found at https://www.131marathon.com/Atlanta/. 

Series sponsor Allstate Life Insurance and non-profit organization Give Your Sole have partnered to collect moderately used athletic shoes from Atlanta 13.1® Marathon race participants and spectators to benefit the Gateway Center, a local organization serving Atlanta’s homeless population. Shoe donations can be made at participating Allstate agencies, during packet pick-up and at the Allstate Life Insurance zone at the Finish Line Festival following the race.

Remaining 2012 Allstate Life Insurance? 13.1 Marathon® Series races include – Dallas – October 27: features a dramatic downtown start amongst the “all hat and all cattle” iconic Big D skyline; and Fort Lauderdale – November 11: offers an amazing sunrise on a scenic and friendly course with a start near Port Everglades and the Broward Convention Center. 

Upcoming 2013 Allstate Life Insurance? 13.1 Marathon® Series races include :

Los Angeles – January 13:  California Dreamin’ on a Winters Day.  Runners are treated to beautiful Southern California weather on a course that starts right along the Pacific Ocean on the Venice Boardwalk, and then a very flat and fast course finishes up in the Winward Traffic Circle in Venice Beach

Miami – March 9:  Runners will take the scenic route of South Beach with a start on famous Ocean Drive and a beautiful beach side finish

New York – March 23:  will be run within historic Flushing Meadows Corona Park, home of the 1939 and 1964 World's Fairs, and begins in front of Arthur Ashe Stadium

Chicago – June 8:  runners will enjoy the South Side of Chicago with a beautiful course that starts and finishes at the South Shore Cultural Center and runs right along Lake Michigan.
