An exceptional meeting with the special guest! We have prepared a nice surprise for all lovers of running. On the occasion of the 13th edition of the Poznań Marathon you are more than welcome to come to the meeting with Scott Jurek!
Jurek is one of the most important figures in ultramarathon running races. A list of his achievements is impressive. During his many years of career he has won most of the famous ultra runs in the world. He was, among others, a winner in the Spartathlon route of 246 km, in the 100 mile Hardrock, in the Badwater Ultramarathon, in the Miwok 100 km and in the Western States Endurance Run, which he won seven times in a row.
In 2010, he broke the United States record in a 24-hour run during which he covered two hundred and sixty-six and six-tenths kilometres (the record has been broken this year in Katowice by Mike Morton). He gained enormous popularity due to an unusual race in Mexico, in which he competed with Indians from the Tarahumara tribe, described in a book "Born to Run" by Chris MacDougall.
In the Polish publishing market, a book "Eat and Run" has just come out. It is an extraordinary journey into the world of ultramarathons and healthy eating written by our guest, in which Jurek honestly talks about his life as a vegan and carrier as an outstanding athlete.
