The TUI Marathon team on location is already counting down to the event. We trust that for you, too, the last few hours before this athletic highlight on Mallorca will go by like a flash. Talking of Mallorca, we hope all participants enjoy a good and relaxed incoming flight and look forward to the Marathon weekend we will be sharing with you.

Nordic Walking lecture
Already one day before the event, on Friday 19 October Jose Manuel Fernandez (technical director and international Nordic Walking coach) will be holding a lecture in the Press Tent to ring in the new Walking Day. The lecture starts at 4 pm, the subject is “Correct Nordic Walking technique and the physical and mental benefits of this sport.”

Marathon Market: What is new on the market, what are the hot topics talked about by the running fraternity? The popular Marathon Market invites you to shop in a relaxed atmosphere before the event. Time to add one or two power bars to your running pouch, to test new shoes or other running gear, or simply to relish the ambience of this market for runners. Opening times: Friday from 2 to 6 pm, Saturday from 11 to 6 pm and Sunday from 0730-1500 hours.

The Pasta Party is being held in Parc de la Mar below La Seu Cathedral. This square, close to the place where the starting bibs are handed out, manages to captivate all comers with its special atmosphere and beautiful view over the artificial lakes and fountains. Look forward to savouring a delicious pasta dish and the laid back atmosphere on Saturday from 2 to 6 pm.

For runners and volunteers the big After Race Party is another highlight of the weekend in Palma – and a fun climax of the TUI Marathon Palma de Mallorca. Party and let it hang out with others of a like mind, celebrate your achievements with friends and swing your booty all night long – in the Mega Park in Playa de Palma on Sunday from 8 pm onwards. Every participant who reaches the finishing line gets a free drink and authentic German Currywurst. Experience shows that not only does the event last until the early hours, it also attracts one or two celebrities…

A reminder: Mallorca meets Cultura: classical Beethoven concert
The organisers of the TUI Marathon and the people behind the famous Festival MúsicaMallorca have prepared a unique musical event for the participants: a big evening with Beethoven. A classical Beethoven concert  will be performed in the magnificent Teatre Principal de Palma on Saturday 20 October 2012, at 7 pm. The start was arranged early to make sure runners can get in a good night’s sleep before the Marathon.

You can always find up-dated information on the event at www.tui-marathon.com. Last minute registration for any of the three disciplines is possible in Par de la Mar: Friday from 2 to 6 pm, Saturday from 11 to 6 pm and Sunday from 0730 hours until shortly before the start.
