Dear runner,

We would like to tell you a few things about the 38th TCS Amsterdam Marathon. Note the following date in your 2013 diary: Sunday, October 20, TCS Amsterdam Marathon.

Given the large national and international interest, we have opened the entry earlier than in previous years. In 2013 we expect another growth in the full marathon. "Amsterdam 2013", which will see various activities take place in the city, will increase the interest from abroad.

During the previous edition as many as 38,000 participants enjoyed the various elements of the marathon. We hope to welcome many enthusiastic runners again in 2013!

Choose Amsterdam this autumn

The autumn marathon in the capital of the Netherlands is loved by runners from all over the world. More than 80 different nationalities will travel to Amsterdam to participate in the TCS Amsterdam Marathon. Why should you choose Amsterdam?

– You will find the start in the Olympic Stadium among 13,000 other marathoners exciting.
– The course is flat and ideal for a personal best.
– Along the way you will pass many of Amsterdam's highlights such as the Rijksmuseum, the Amstel and the Vondelpark.
– It is an excellent family event. Run with your whole family!
– It is an ideal opportunity to spend a weekend away with friends or business associates. There is plenty to do in Amsterdam.
– The various distances are suitable for every kind of runner.

VUmc Cancer Center Amsterdam remains the charity for 2013

VUmc Cancer Center is once again the TCS Amsterdam Marathon charity in 2013. You can make a voluntary donation during the entry process.

This charity was also associated with the TCS Amsterdam Marathon in 2012. € 115,000 was raised. This enormous amount was donated by both Dutch and participants from abroad.

Thanks to the support of the participants, sponsors and our own team, more research can be carried out into cancer, a disease that everyone in our society comes across. The amount will be spent on early detection of cancer, customised therapy and improvement in the quality of life of patients.

AMSTERDAM 2013

2013 is a very special year for Amsterdam. In celebration of several incredible milestones such as the opening of the renovated Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum and 400 years of the Canal Ring, the year will be chock-full of exciting events. A great opportunity to explore the city with your family.
