GERMAN MEETINGS – DUESSELDORF – World’s top” in the 800 metres – “PSD Bank Meeting“

By GRR 0

Duesseldorf, 14 January 2013. The 8th edition of  the “PSD Bank Meeting" at Athletics Hall at Arena Sportpark in Duesseldorf (8 February 2013) will experience yet another highlight – and Meeting Director Marc Osenberg can hardly contain his anticipation for the men’s 800 metres.

“The field is really the world’s top. That event will be another highlight of the PSD Bank Meeting.”

The field of starters reads like that of a final at a major international championship: The just 18-year-old 2012 Olympic bronze medallist Timothy Kitum and the 2011 World indoor runner-up and 2012 Duesseldorf winner Boaz Kiplagat Lalang are representing Kenya. They will meet a European top trio: Adam Kszczot (Poland), the world’s fastest man in the 800m indoors in 2012; Yuriy Borzakovskiy (Russia), the 2004 Olympic champion and Duesseldorf winner in 2008 and 2010; and Kevin Lopez (Spain), the fastest European 800m runner outdoors in 2012. Osenberg: “With Kszczot, Lalang, Kitum and Borzakovskiy there are no fewer than four of the world’s top six athletes indoors in 2012 competing in Duesseldorf.”

The 7th “PSD Bank Meeting” was the fourth-best Indoor Meeting in the ranking of the International Athletics Federation (IAAF) in 2012 thus establishing itself in the top of all indoor meetings.

In the past years the “PSD Bank Meeting” has always attracted a sell-out crowd of 2,000. In 2013, 650,000 fans watched the performances of the international and national top stars on Eurosport. Eurosport will broadcast again in 2013.

Tickets for the 8th edition of the “PSD Bank Meeting” can be obtained at www.psd-bank-meeting.de or at d:ticket and on the hotline 01805 – 644332. Children and juveniles up to 18 years pay ten Euros, adults €18. There will be reduced tickets for clubs.
