Dear hand bike friends,
This year we presenting the Vuelta de Playa Blanca for the fourth time and we are very happy that such a large number of hand bikers participated in the past events.

The Vuelta is intended as an exciting way to end our training on the island and show the citizens of Playa Blanca how fascinating hand biking can be.
For us Playa Blanca is the ‘Paradise of Hand Biking’, we can train and relax at the same time during the winter season.

We appreciate very much that many experienced hand bikers have taken the time and are willing to show the beginners the tips and tricks of hand biking.

It’s unique that here the hand bikers can ride the challenging terrain in peace and quiet without the stress of heavy automobile traffic or having to perform in competitions. This event allows us to bond together as people and hand bikers through communications with each other–and we want to keep promoting this.
For us the Vuelta is a fun event which people should remember positively.

Following this philosophy we have a completely new concept for the Vuelta 2013!!
This year we will have mixed teams, i.e. 2 Germans/1 Polish/1French and two Spaniards or 6 Germans for example.

The names of all men and women riding in this year’s event will selected for the various teams through a lottery system at the riders meeting.

We expect a lot of advantages from this type of organization

1. The friendship between the riders will be more intense, as they will have to understand one another. They will have a common goal. And to achieve this goal they will have to distribute the responsibilities within the team and work together in order to ride effectively.
2. The riders will get to know one another much better and this can put away with possible prejudices.
3. You can improve your understanding of different languages.
4. The spectators can see much better the positions of the different teams (all teams will be clearly identifiable).
5. By riding in a team each member will have to reconsider his/her riding capabilities, adjust to the others and thus can improve his/her technique.
6. This event will be the first of its kind in hand bike sport and all participants in this race will be pioneers in the sport of hand biking (don’t miss it)
7. We all will have a lot of fun. We are looking forward to the many commands in different languages during the race.
