FLASH – 37th Marathon de Paris – Peter Some (KEN) was the surprising winner of the men’s race in 2:05:38.

FLASH – Ethiopia’s Boru Feyse Tadese set a world-leading time and women’s course record of 2:21:05 today (7) at the 37th edition of the Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris, while Kenyan Peter Some was the surprising winner of the men’s race in 2:05:38.

With cool temperatures and sunny sky, the weather conditions were ideal for the start of the Paris Marathon at 8:30.

The women’s race started very fast, as the leaders ran 16:44 at 5km, faster than the 17:01 by Ethiopian Tirfi Beyene ran when she broke the Paris Marathon course record last year (2:21:37).

Peter Some ran second fastest marathon in paris 
Paris marathon improved the top 10 performance average to 2:06:10, 
but it is still 9th fastest in the  world.

Women
Feysa Tadesse became the 43rd woman to break 2:22 for the marathon  
Paris marathon's women's course record, 2:21:05, is now 11th fastest in the world. 
The fastest women's marathon on French soil was recorded by Feysa Tadesse. 
 
 

The best marks for place for 1st to 5th were set. 

Top 10 average for Paris Marathon's women's performances is now 2:23:01, eighth fastest in the world 
Half Marathon stats for the weekend: 
In Praha Gladys Cherono became the 65th women to crack 68 min for the half marathon. 
and in Berlin Jacob Kendagor became the 101st runner to crack 60min for the half marathon.
