Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany – London – All-German Champions League Final in London
Around 50,000 German supporters are expected to arrive in London this Saturday, 25 May, 2013, to witness the first all-German final of the UEFA Champions League at Wembley Stadium.
Having easily beaten FC Barcelona in the semi-finals, FC Bayern München is now seeking to win its fifth European cup to join Liverpool FC and become the joint-third most successful club in the competition's history behind Real Madrid CF and AC Milan. Its rival Borussia Dortmund, which managed to beat Real Madrid CF on a 4-3 aggregate to reach the final, is looking to repeat its previous UEFA Champions League victory in 1997.
FC Bayern München and Borussia Dortmund drew both of their Bundesliga meetings this season but Jupp Heynckes's men ran out 2-1 winners in the German Super Cup in August to end a run of five straight defeats by Dortmund in all competitions.
With these two incredibly strong clubs we can look forward to an unpredictable and exciting game. We're counting the minutes until kick-off at 7:45 pm!
Fans should be aware that there will be no public screening of the UEFA Champions League Final in London.
