New changes at the 40th BERLIN MARATHON

Original starting number on your shirt 

Once again BMW is present in 2013 as a partner of running as well as at 8 marathon events and the city running series by SportScheck. All runners can collect a great gift at the BMW stand at the BERLIN VITAL Expo: your original starting number printed on a shirt of your choice! Just come by the stand bring your running shirt or any other t-shirt and pick it up again a little later with your number printed on it. Please note that the print cannot substitute the original starting number during the race but it will be a unique souvenir of the 40th BERLIN MARATHON for sure. BMW is looking forward to seeing spectators and fans at our "Hotspot Start and Hotspot at Kurfürstendamm". 

Technology meets sports: TCS at BERLIN VITAL

Up to 100,000 attendees are expected at the consumer fitness show BERLIN VITAL from September 26 to 28, 2013. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will be part of it as an exhibitor. The highlight at the TCS booth: the BERLIN MARATHON app. It helps viewers to locate runners on the route and provides easy access to image libraries and top results. The application runs on all current smart phones.

The adidas BERLIN MARATHON collection

At 2 pm on September 26th the marathon shopping will begin at the Expo. In addition to technical and fashionable gear and accessories for runners and skaters, for the 40th anniversary of the BERLIN MARATHON we have also created some special event souvenirs. One new item is a "Thank you" medal for your friends, family, partner and trainer. An additional highlight is the anniversary jacket, Galaxy

Your kids will find something too: with our kids' collection, they can run the Mini-Marathon or Bambini Run in a new outfit.

Your adidas mi time-wristband

A message from adidas:

You want an individual souvenir of your BERLIN MARATHON? In this case the adidas mi time wristband is the right accessory for you. After the race we engrave your personal finish time so you always have it with you. You can find your mi time wristband in your starter package with your starting number on the BERLIN VITAL fair.

You can get your individual souvenir at the Marathon Party* on Sunday 29th September from 8 pm or engrave it at the adidas Performance Store (Tauentzienstr. 15, 10789 Berlin) on Monday 30th October and Tuesday 1st October. Please bring along your mi time-wristband and your personal finish time. The engraving will only take a couple of minutes.

The ERDINGER Alkoholfrei MotivationZone

A message from ERDINGER Alkoholfrei:

The suffering usually begins somewhere around the 30 km mark. This time, where you usually expect to hit the wall, you can now look forward to being "hit" instead with personal greetings and motivating words from your friends and family in the ERDINGER Alkoholfrei Motivation Zone. It is a fact – a proven one even – that positive thoughts can help keep you from giving up and get you through the pain on the last part of the race. For just that reason, ERDINGER Alkoholfrei will be setting up a Motivation Wall just past the 35 km mark on Tauentzienstrasse, corner of Nürnberger Strasse, where your friends and family can post personal video messages that you can read as you run past. Hopefully these words of support will get you motivated from the tips of your toes to the tips of your hair and help carry you all the way to the finish.

The video messages will be activated by the timekeeping chip. Only one message can be recorded for each athlete. The video messages can be submitted online immediately via the BERLIN MARATHON homepage. Just send this link to your friends and family and wait to see what words they send you to keep you going at the 35-km mark!

Autograph hour with Eliud Kipchoge at the PowerBar stand

Get a personal autograph! Autograph hour with Eliud KIPCHOGE. The two-time Olympic medallist and world champion will be visiting our PowerBar stand.

When: Fr., September 27 from 3 to 3:30 pm.

You can also participate in our Berlin Marathon drawing at the PowerBar stand. The prizes will include one trip for two persons to the ING New York City Marathon in 2014, including flight and accommodations for three nights.

The final date to enter is October 10, 2013. You must be 18 or older to participate.
