Lotto Cross Cup, Brussels, December 22

There was a large British contingent taking place in this popular pre-Christmas event.

European bronze medallist Andy Vernon (coach: Nic Bideau) was the leading European man in sixth in 31:25 Lorna Russell (Nick Anderson) was the leading British woman in seventh in 20:39 British Inter Counties under-17 champion Jac Hopkins (Kevin Tobin), though only 16 years-old, won the under-20 race in 19:40 while Callum Johnson (John Stephenson) finished third.

Alex Clay (Pete Mullervy) led in the junior women's race in 14:28 where Britain remarkably had the first five and nine of the top 12.

Georgia Malir (Andrew Henderson) was second in 14:53 and Annabel Mason third in 14:53. Alex's younger sister, Bobby Clay won the under-17 race by 19 seconds in in 8:35.

Crystal Palace 60m Open Meeting, December 18

European junior champion Dina Asher-Smith (John Blackie) timed a PB 7.32 in the 60 metres to win a mixed race.

The time increases her lead at the top of the Power of Ten rankings for 2013, and showing her consistency is the tenth time this year she has run 7.40 or faster during the year.
