Kiew City Marathon/Ukraine on april 27, 2014 – Organizers of Kyiv City Marathon guarantee intensified protection and safety of all the participants

Team of Kyiv City Marathon assured participants in full safety of the race. Event will take place as planned – on April 27th, start – in Kontraktova ploshcha.

Dmitriy Chernitskiy, director of the Marathon, underlined that lately many calls from neighboring countries were received from those who want to participate in the marathon.

"Regularly we receive letters from different countries with questions about current situation in Ukraine. People worry that the event can be cancelled", tells Dmitriy. "Foreigners are concerned about safety. We can assure that none of the current problems can influence Marathon holding. Sport always united people of different nations, political views and religion. Now as never before it is important to show the whole world how sport, specifically Kyiv Marathon, can become the symbol of consolidation and reaching the common goal.

Specially for calmness of city guests, Marathon in 2014 will be held under intensified control. City streets around the route will be blocked. Participants of the Marathon will be accompanied by employees of Department of Motor Vehicles and Traffic Control in motocycles.

Kiev Marathon holds an important mission – to popularize racing, and is sports visiting card of Kyiv.
