RUNNING GERMANY: HAMBURG – 20th hella hamburg half marathon on june 29, 2014

By GRR 0

The 20th hella hamburg half marathon promises to once again be a spectacular sporting event for Hamburg. As one of the “pure” half marathon races in Germany, this classic city race leads past numerous Hamburg tourist attractions and is considered to be the fastest of the German summer half marathon races.

The start will take place at 10 a.m. on the four-lane Reeperbahn, accompanied by the sound of samba drums, while the skaters will head out on the course half an hour earlier. Our shuttle buses will bring you from the race number distribution site at the event centre at the Rothenbaum Tennis Stadium (finish) to the start, or you may take the metro there (U3: St. Pauli).

You will tour Hamburg from a new perspective: past the traditional Altona fish market, back past the enthusiastic spectators along the Reeperbahn, St. Pauli piers, the main train station, along the Aussenalster waterfront and from there down Rothenbaumchaussee to the finish.

Hamburg’s local television station, Hamburg 1, will be broadcasting live, and we will celebrate together with you with sausage and beer and live music.
