Athletics Ireland – News – Minister congratulates Mark English on winning Bronze
Minister of State for Tourism and Sport, Michael Ring TD, congratulated Mark English on winning the Bronze medal at the European Championships in Zurich this evening.
Minister Ring said: ‘I am delighted for Mark and his team, it is a brilliant achievement and bodes well for Mark. The Irish team has had mixed fortunes over the course of this Championships but it always great for the athletes and their families when medals are brought home. I am sure this will give Mark great confidence going forward and as always the nation will look forward to rallying behind him.’
Paul Robinson and Ciáran O’Lionáird who also qualified for the 1500m Final on Sunday.
“I also want to wish Paul and Ciáran all the best in Sunday’s Final, it is a fantastic achievement for both of them. It is a while since Ireland have had two athletes competing in the 1500m Final and we wish them every luck.”
