Countdown to the 15th Poznan Marathon/POL on 12th october 2014 – Route of the 15 PM certified and ready for the run

There are 46 days left to 15. Poznań Marathon 2014 and we already know every inch of the route. The official route measurement took place a couple of weeks ago and we have been given a certificate of AIMS (Association of International Marathons and Distance Races).

On the 13-14 July you may have noticed an unusually dressed man (in an orange jumpsuit) on a bike in the streets of Poznań. Probably none of you haven’t guessed then that the bike this man was riding is the most important tool needed to measure the route of the marathon. This specifficaly calibrated wehicle measured with precission the shortest way the marathon runners may go on the 12 October.

On that day, thousands of runners will face Poznań Marathon. For some, this will be the first time they tackle its route – we are sure it will be an unforgettable race for them. For others, it will be a „trampled trail” – or so they think.

This year’s route leads through the main streets of the city, as it did in previous years, but there is a magnificant attraction awaitng the runners on the way – they will get an access to the grounds so far reserved only for football players.

Between the sixth and seventh kilometre of the route marathoners get to the INEA Stadium – one of the UEFA Euro2012 arenas. It’s the first time when the INEA Stadium opens its gates for Poznań marathoners. With the crowds cheering in the stands, the runners definitely will experience unforgettable moments going across the pitch. It’s something they could have only dreamt of so far. Anyone who is worried about trampling the pitch may be relaxed – it will be covered with special panels to protect it from any damages. The panels will also be very comfortable to run on.

First refreshement points will be located outside the INEA Stadium. When charged with isotonics and a dose of great emotions from the pitch, runners go for the farther „journey” to win a commemorative jubilee medal, which will be awaiting them at the Saint Mark’s Square at the Poznań International Fair.
