Japan: robot feeds you tomatoes during marathon
An engineer from the Japanese company, Kogame, realised that it was difficult to eat tomatoes during a marathon…so they invented this robot.
Japan is an avant-garde country in robotic inventions. Kogame specialises in making tomato-based food. To create a global buzz, they decided to promote healthy eating by using a robot and focusing on the Tokyo marathon.
The company teamed up with the artist Maywa Denki, to create the robotic tomato machine.
The aim is to promote consumption of this fruit in a fun and original way during a marathon. The robot weighs 8 kilos and is carried on the shoulders, so it is not at all adapted as sports equipment – but it is not for sale anyway…
However it has been a successful marketing strategy as images of the Kogame robot have travelled the world over.
