RUNNING GERMANY: BERLIN – 100 Miles Berlin – The Wall race on august 13, 2016 – Mauro Firmani is the new 100-Miles ambassador for Italy
Not many runners know the 100MeilenBerlin as well as three-times finisher Mauro Firmani does. But this is not the only reason why the Italian is the perfect 100-Miles ambassador.
He also does a lot of travelling, running 15 to 20 marathons and ultramarathons a year. In 2015 he finished the famous ultramarathon “Nove Colli”: a very demanding race over a distance of 202 kilometers, with more than 3.200 meters of elevation.
By the way, Mauro is also founder of a group of pacemakers: The “marathontruppen” offer their services in Italy at eight or nine races a year. Besides that. he organizes a marathon for charity south-west of Rome, the “maratombola”. Finishers can win bibs for different marathons, and within the past three years, more than 6.000 € were raised for charity.
South Tyrolean Hartmann Stampfer, who was Italian 100-Miles ambassador and interpreter in the org team up to now, passed this task on to Mauro for private reasons. Dear Hartmann, the 100-Miles team wants to thank you for your wonderful commitment over the past years and wishes you all the best!
